Metechi Planting Hardneck Garlic

from 12.00

Large hardneck garlic with a very strong flavor and exceptional clove productivity on blushed wrappers with purple streaks. The heat will knock your socks off. The after taste is warm, pleasing and garlicky. The flavor holds up well in cooking. Consistently productive in a broad range of climates, this is one of the most widely adapted varieties we know. ‘Metechi’ stores well, and produces a bonus of delicious gourmet garlic scapes in summer. Bulbs are nicely colored with 5 to 7 large purple striped easy peel cloves. Bulbs are long storing. Averages 40-65 cloves per pound. Late-season, purple stripe hardneck.

Garlic used for seed is generally 2" or greater, while eating garlic can be any size.
